Importing characters from another classroom
Students can follow these steps to import an avatar and characters they created in another classroom. This saves students from having to recreate characters each time they start a new Bitstrips for Schools class. This feature is only available to students.
Please note that in order to import characters, students need to know their class code and account password from their other classroom.
Log in and go to the Settings tab
Log into your Student account and go to the Settings tab.
Click on the Import Characters button
On the Settings page, look for the "Avatar and Characters" section and then click the Import Characters button.
Enter the class code of the classroom you'd like to import your characters from
After you complete the last step, a window will open up asking you to enter the class code of the classroom you're trying to import your characters from. Enter the code and hit Go.
If you don't know your class code, you won't be able to import your characters.
Select your name from the drop-down list and enter your password
You should now see a prompt that says "Select your name". Choose your name from the drop-down list and then enter your password for this classroom. Then hit the Get Characters button.
Choose which characters you'd like to import
You should now see your avatar, plus a familiar list of characters that you created in this classroom. Now simply click the Import button below each character you'd like to import into your current classroom.
Click the Done Importing button. You're done!
Each time you import a character, you'll notice that the character fades out and an 'Imported' confirmation message appears. Once you've imported all the characters you want to bring into your current class, click Done Importing (you may need to scroll down to see this button). You can come back and import more characters later if you want to.
Your characters are ready to be used in your comics
Once you click Done Importing in the last step, you'll be automatically taken to the My Characters page of the account you're logged into. You should now see all the characters you just imported, waiting to be used in your latest Bitstrips!
